Jacquards are part of the Kate Spade New York heritage almost as much as nylon. They’re unique fabrics: highly-textured, with patterns that are woven instead of printed. For this collection they wanted to do something totally new with their signature Spade Flower pattern. They looked to Limonta, a centuries-old, family-owned textile mill in northern Italy near Como. Limonta has been producing and experimenting with jacquards for over 100 years and are one of the world’s most renowned mills. Together they’ve made something special. Here, they’ve used the Spade Flower Jacquard (now made using denim) on the Spade Flower Jacquard Denim Manhattan Small Tote—a compact bag for all the little things.
